Dr. Bergholtz is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in the treatment of adolescents, adults and couples. Dr. Bergholtz experience includes treating clients with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, ADHD, ODD and conduct disorder, trauma, addictions as well as complicated co-occurring presentations. Her passion is working with young women and professional women who are transitioning into career and/or parenthood, as well as trauma survivors. Dr. Bergholtz received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Allendale Association. Dr. Bergholtz is trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and she is a certified Maternal Mental Health Professional through Postpartum Support International.

In addition to her clinical practice with Tompkins and Associates, Dr. Bergholtz currently serves as the Clinical Director for Chatham Family Counseling Center (CFCC), a part of Hartgrove Behavioral Health System. In this role, Dr. Bergholtz oversees operations and management of the clinic and provides clinical supervision to therapists in training as well as other clinical staff members. At Allendale Association, Dr. Bergholtz was the Coordinator of the Community Support Program, supervising in-home therapy providers in addition to working with clients in the therapeutic day school and outpatient clinic.

Dr. Bergholtz takes a collaborative approach to treatment. She partners with clients and their families to identify desired outcomes with the most direct way to reach them. Dr. Bergholtz strives to meet her clients where they are and utilizes a compassionate and relatable style. She uses an integrative approach drawing from Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, and Motivational Interviewing approaches. Dr. Bergholtz believes in empowering clients to know they can achieve their goals, reach for their dreams and live the fulfilled life for which they strive.
