Neuropsychological Assessment Psychologist
Position Description
Tompkins and Associates is pleased to announce the addition of an Assessment Psychologist to provide neuropsychological and psychological assessments in our Naperville office. Tompkins and Associates is a growing private practice, which serves children, adolescents, and families.
- Part-time contractual position ideal for someone looking for a flexible hybrid position. Opportunity to grow to a full-time position.
- The primary responsibility is to provide high quality and comprehensive neuropsychological and psychological assessments to a broad range of child and adolescent clients, with diverse clinical presentations.
- The ideal candidate will complete 4 to 8 assessments per month.
- Assessments are conducted in person, with all additional tasks (intake, scoring, report writing, and feedback) being conducted virtually.
- Assessments are conducted in the morning throughout the week or on weekends, depending on the Assessment Psychologist’s availability and client schedules.
- Proficiency in common assessments measures that assess cognitive, academic, developmental, adaptive, social, and emotional domains.
- Most referrals are for ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Learning Disabilities, and mood/anxiety disorder.
- Typical assessment clients are seeking assistance with obtaining IEP/504 accommodations, renewal of ABA services, and diagnostic clarification and treatment recommendations for other treating providers including prescribers and clinicians.
- Additional opportunity to maintain a small caseload of individual and family therapy clients is available for interested candidates.
Candidate Qualifications
Tompkins and Associates is seeking a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with training in neuropsychological and psychological assessment.
- Must be qualified to independently complete comprehensive evaluations of attention/concentration, learning disability, cognitive functioning, academic skills, autism spectrum and social functioning, and anxiety/mood functioning.
- Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- It is expected that assessments are completed within two weeks from intake to feedback sessions with completed reports.
- The successful candidate will be comfortable working closely with parents to provide guidance on following through on recommended treatment or academic interventions.
- Must be independent in scheduling clients, case management, and have outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organization skills are required to maintain time management.
- Must be comfortable collaborating with other providers in the community including psychiatrists, therapists, pediatricians, and school staff.

- Preference will be given to candidates from APA accredited graduate programs and internships as well as those who have completed child and adolescent training in evidence-based practices.

Postdoctoral Fellow

Job Description:
Tompkins and Associates is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow for the 2024-2025 academic year. We are a growing private practice dedicated to serving children, adolescents, and families in Naperville, IL. This position will include evening and/or weekend hours to accommodate clients’ scheduling needs.
The primary responsibility is to provide high-quality and evidence-based individual and family therapy to a diverse range of child and adolescent clients with various clinical presentations. Most common referrals include anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, ADHD, mood regulation, and high functioning autism. It is expected that the Postdoctoral Psychologists will use evidence-based interventions including CBT, DBT, ACT, and play therapy.
In addition to individual and family therapy, the Postdoctoral Psychologist will have the opportunity to conduct psychological assessments, approximately one battery per month. A typical testing battery includes measures such as WISC V, WIAT III, NEPSY 2, CPT/CATA, Conners, MACI, TAT, and additional measures as appropriate.
Tompkins and Associates is proud to be partnered with Lurie Children’s Hospital Department of Psychiatry in a national research project focusing on randomized therapeutic interventions for childhood anxiety. The Postdoctoral Psychologist will be fully trained in research treatment protocol and will actively participate in all facets of this collaboration.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide high-quality individual and family therapy to child and adolescent clients
- Conduct psychological assessments
- Participate in the national research project in collaboration with Lurie Children’s Hospital Department of Psychiatry
- Engage in professional development

- Participate in weekly individual and group supervision

Qualifications:
- Completion of Psy.D., Ph.D., or Ed.D. from an APA accredited university
- Completion of Predoctoral Internship, APA accredited and child/adolescent focus strongly preferred
- Previous training in the assessment and treatment of children, adolescents, and families
- Proficiency in CBT, ACT, and attachment theory for conceptualization and treatment interventions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time management skills and organization skills
- Comfortable working closely with parents and conducting family therapy
- Must possess a growth mindset and preference for collaborative team-based environment
- Available for evening and/or weekend hours to accommodate client schedules
Compensation and Benefits:
- Full-time Fellow will receive a competitive annual stipend of $55,000
- Part-time Fellow will receive a competitive annual stipend of $32,000 for two years

Key Responsibilities:
