Dr. Hammond is the owner of Tompkins and Associates. She is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who specializes in the treatment of children, adolescents, young adults, and families. Her clients experience a wide range of challenges, including social anxiety, depression, trauma, self-injury, and adjustment to life changes. Dr. Hammond provides a safe and supportive environment in which children and teens explore their challenges and learn skills to navigate a rapidly changing world.
Dr. Hammond approaches treatment using evidenced-based methods, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy models, while maintaining holistic treatment. She balances compassion and support for client growth and development while also providing parents with guidance. Dr. Hammond respects the role parents and family play in nurturing the path to autonomy for children and teens.
Dr. Hammond has extensive experience conducting neuropsychological evaluations for school districts and families. She specializes in evaluating social emotional diagnoses including ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Mood Disorders, and Anxiety. Evaluations assist in providing families and school staff with recommendations for interventions to maximize a child’s ability to function and achieve at their full potential. This includes classroom accommodations, testing accommodations, and access to an IEP or 504 Plan. Dr. Hammond is a trusted neuropsychologist who is frequently contracted by school districts and educational advocates to provide comprehensive evaluations of students’ needs. Additionally, Dr. Hammond provides professional presentations for educators on the topics of child/adolescent mental health issues.
Dr. Hammond obtained her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Hartford. She completed her residency in Child and Adolescent Psychology at Wayne State University and finished her training during her Postdoctoral Fellowship at Linden Oaks Hospital at Edward. Dr. Hammond was formerly the lead psychologist at AMITA GlenOaks Therapeutic Day Schools, where she managed a team of therapists as they focused on developing best practices for better outcomes for teenagers.
