Monika Malinowska, Psy.D., is a bilingual (Polish-English) Clinical Psychologist working with children, adolescents, and families. She has training working with youth from the toddler years through the launching years and adults. She has previous experience in clinical settings such as private practice, medical settings, and community clinics. Additionally, Dr. Malinowska conducts comprehensive neuropsychological assessments for social, emotional, behavioral, developmental, academic, and intellectual disorders.

Dr. Malinowska approaches her work with compassion and empathy. She prides herself on using a non-judgemental and relational stance in treatment, coupled with evidence-based interventions to support families as they navigate their unique challenges. Dr. Malinowska is trained in Client-Centered Therapy, Child Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. She has experience working with individuals presenting with anxiety, depression, trauma, intellectual disabilities, and severe mental illnesses. Additionally, she has experience working with individuals with medical diagnoses, Autism Spectrum, and young children with emotional distress and trauma. Dr. Malinowska also provides parent coaching support and emotional support to parents navigating parenting challenges. Dr. Malinowska has a particular specialty in treating trauma and PTSD in adults.

Dr. Malinowska also conducts comprehensive neuropsychological assessments for children and adults from ages 6 years and above. She provides evaluations for ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and social-emotional concerns. She is fully certified to administer the full range of neuropsychological assessments, including the ADOS 2. Dr. Malinowska believes that when individuals better understand their own cognitive and emotional functioning, they are best positioned to choose the right treatment and interventions for their unique needs.  Evaluations can assist with obtaining school interventions through an IEP or 504 Plan, obtaining accommodations for standardized testing and workplaces, and making recommendations to other treatment providers, including prescribers and therapists.

Dr. Malinowska graduated from The Illinois School of Professional Psychology at National-Louis University and trained in the Clinical Psychology Program. She completed her Pre-Doctoral Internship at The Will County Health Department, Joliet, IL, where she worked with clients across the life span providing crisis, therapeutic interventions, and testing/consultation services.
