Tracy Helander, LCSW

Tracy Helander, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Postpartum Specialist, through Postpartum Support International. Tracy specializes in working with women, helping them navigate the change that postpartum and parenthood brings. Her client’s struggle with a wide range of issues related to pregnancy and parenthood, including, perinatal and postnatal anxiety and depression, adjustment disorders, fertility, fetal loss and isolation.

Tracy received her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and Master’s degree in Social Work, emphasis in mental health, through Loyola University Chicago. Tracy has 10+ years working in outpatient therapy, inpatient hospital settings and community crisis management and prevention. This has allowed her the opportunity to provide therapy to individuals, couples, and families, providing both individual and group therapy.
Along with her clinical work at Tompkins and Associates, Tracy continues to work at Edward Hospital as a Maternal Child Mental Health Therapist. Her position includes supporting parents and children, particularly focusing on NICU, peds/PICU and obstetrics. Tracy finds it a privilege to work with patients during some of life’s most intimate and difficult times.

Tracy enjoys working with women and families in a private practice setting because of the depth and breadth of treatment she can provide. Specializing in anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and adjustment disorders. Tracy recognizes the importance of building a trusting client therapist relationship and uses an integrative approach to therapy. Tracy utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in combination with talk therapy to promote client autonomy. Tracy provides a supportive and safe environment for clients to express their needs and find growth.
