Prabha Kaundinya, PhD, (she/her) is a Postdoctoral Clinical Psychologist and Licensed School Psychologist in Illinois. She works with children, adolescents, and young adults ages 3-25 years and their families to support their social-emotional, behavioral, learning and mental health needs. Dr. Kaundinya provides services in English, Hindi, and Tamil. Her extensive training in clinical and educational settings affords her the ability to gain a deep understanding of child and family needs and provide a broad range of individual, group, and family therapeutic services. She also conducts comprehensive neuropsychological and psychoeducational assessments for a range of social, emotional, cognitive, behavioral and learning-related concerns.

Dr. Kaundinya is deeply committed to partnering with families and helping them navigate their difficulties together, one step at a time. Dr. Kaundinya believes in meeting families where they are at in their healing journey and tailoring psychological intervention to suit their unique needs and treatment goals. Dr. Kaundinya’s therapeutic approach integrates elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Ecological Systems Theory towards supporting child and family health. Additionally, her extensive training and experience in educational settings equips her to lend valuable insights to families in navigating the IEP/504 process and partner with them in advocating for their needs.

Dr. Kaundinya earned her PhD in School Psychology from Loyola University Chicago.

She completed her APA Approved Pre-Doctoral Internship at Glenview School District in Glenview, Illinois. She worked as a full-time Licensed School Psychologist at a middle and an elementary school within the Oswego School District, Illinois. Dr. Kaundinya also has experience working at a community mental health clinic providing individual therapy and family consultation to children and adolescents over a broad range of social-emotional and behavioral concerns. Through her training and full time work she has gained extensive experiences in counseling, assessment, educational and family consultation across diverse educational and clinical settings.
